Do Your Homework
To become successful, you must first become an excellent student. Observe what is already working (particularly which books are best-sellers in your niche) and take copious notes. Spend time in the Reviews section of products to identify what peolpe are satisfied/dissastified with.
Pay particular attention to what they are dissatisifed with/found to be missing in the comments because it will give you clues for what you should cover in your book.
Consume the best sellers in the category you want to write about read forums and the live community of people who may be interested in the book you will produce. Become a member and a contributor to the conversation, be one of your customers.
What are they talking about? any recurring themes?
Understand Your Target Customer
No really intimately. Deep down.
We understand because… you can spend 2 months creating a book like I did that non one wants or you can really study this part. This is what sets you up for the rest.
For the category you choose. your dm process and better understanding what makes them tick which also means a better understanding of yourself.
Perform a target customer analysis and form a deeper understanding of what they buy in their lives, their desires, and ambitions.
Read the Top Books in Your Niche
I recommend reading the best sellers because your goal is likely to sell or distribute your book well. Read the books with the most hype and buzz but also pay attention to the comments bs social proof fake.
A book can be best-seller for the content or the authors ability to market it.
Have to niche-down as best as you can. If you cant buy them PDF. Find free Youtube videos forums, Google, Reddit what are people saying.
Document your notes across various sources and you will hve the seeds for a great book on your hands. Pay particular attention to what they do well, how did you feel as you were reading the book, what structure did the book have?
Niche Down for Less Competition
Select a subtopic in your niche that will allow you to become the expert. The deeper you niche-down, the less competition you wil face and the better your chances are at becoming a leader in the subtopic.
Here are some subtopic ideas to get your mind thinking about how to go deeper into your niche:
- Twitter > Twitter marketing > growing your following > 0 – 1000 followers > mindset, processes, and tactics
- Food > Lousianna cusine > New Orleans cuisine > tradiotional new orleans cuisine
Identify the smallest subtopic you can become an expert in. Here are amazon categirues for an example of nicheing down.
Fill the gaps
Find out what the popular and selling books are not talking about (as much) somewhere where you can expand and add your insight. You will be very successful if you can idenitfy what people need more.
Keep your eyes open! What else would you like to learn in more detail? What resources or information can you add to your work to make your book more useful?
Look at your research what are people demanding that just isn’t there yet. What can you expand upon?
Understand the value array
This process is simple and may take some time to do well. Do a study of all the different characteristics and features being offered by your competition.
For e-books, see if authors are providing worksheets, exercises, additional resources, possibly a video series. Make a list (from your reading) of what the top books in your market are offering to the readers to enhance the usefulness of the book.
Create and package your frameworks
Picking a compelling need they have and your understanding of where they want to go in their life and the book being the missing piece.
Creating frameworks to solve actual needs in your customers lives. You are the expert now that you are choosing to write about a topic you have spent time learning and improving.
Read Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson will give you ideas on how to package and sell your frameworks.
Master DMs on Twitter
The magic in Twitter is in the direct communication system. Use it to your advantage by buillding authentic relationships. If you cant handle them all then handle a few per day. Create a routine that is most productive like time blocking fot just DMs.
In the meantime while you are developing your book, always be in the DMs nurturing relationships, building rapport, sharing stories and resources. Add “value” to the other person’s life where you can.
How to talk to poeple, how to time-block appropriately, having a mission for the DMs, why I would be nice to have a site or product to send people too if you hit it off.
The goal is to understand if you dont answer daily they will get flooded. Still make sure you are taking your time and giving each conversation your full attention when you are speaking
Learn along the way
Understand that you should keep creating books after this one this is not a one and done although it can be if you want.
Ability to learn what the market is missing the sub market. Also focus on your ability to fill in the gaps value arrays from Unscripted by MJ Demarco.
This may be a perfect time to start collecting emails but I will not talk about that topic right here our goal is just to tap into social proof, relationship-based selling, and having a free taste for our customers hwo want.
Social proof your selling
Structure your products so that your first offer is a freebie – an invitation into your world where your customer gives the original time investment to see if they are interested.
If they like it, they can proceed for a deeper understanding. Make recommendations for others to share your book if they found it helpful. Use your page as a feed for other people’s opinions of your work, especially the raving reviews.
Make sure you are not selling yourself short and also price does them a dissatification

If people percieve you have something that will get them to where they want to go in life then they will be interested in it and some will pay for it. with my previous post.
Taking on this journey will add credibility and income and more meaningful relationships to your life if you do it right and remember its not a one time thing. You will likely produce more e-books because your books will not be a best-seller but it will teach you so much.
